I attended the Center’s Review LA January 14th and 15th 2011 in Santa Monica, California. I had the greatest time meeting reviewers and photographers alike from around the world. The photographic review process is a wonderful experience that helps photographers grow and network. I met with nine scheduled reviewers and paid for one additional review. All of the reviewers I met with where positive and helpful in my quest of promoting my fine art photography. I did not hear a discouraging word, all offered great suggestions and gave thoughtful resources and gallery suggestions for me to follow up on.

Ann Jastrab of the RayKo Photo Center reviewing my work
On the first night all of the photographers laid out their portfolios for one another to peruse, then the doors where open to the public. Photo LA was happening at the same time just across the street at the Santa Monica Convention Center. Many of the attendees as well as presenters attended the portfolio viewing. I met many gallery owners/directors. This was a fabulous network opportunity. I met with gallery directors and museum curators that I had shared my portfolio with at Photolucida and FotoFest, as well as folks I had never met before.
I plan on signing up for the Center’s Review Santa Fe (deadline January 27th) in Santa Fe New Mexico June 2 – 5 2011
